Surface Capacitive Touch Screen
This primitive capacitive touch screen was most reliable and accurate type until advent of Projected Capacitive touch screens (PCAP/PCT). These touch screens work by placing electrodes on all four corners of a conductively coated glass surface, which create a uniform electric field. When a touch is sensed, current is drawn from electrodes. The controller calculates touch point/location by measuring the current.
